New skateboard park equipment may be coming to Twin Lakes

It looks like Twin Lakes will be getting a better skateboard park thanks to an upgrade at a nearby community’s park that will free up some equipment.

Park Commission member Tom Calkins asked the Twin Lakes Village Board Monday for approval to go ahead and purchase the used equipment from Lake Geneva, which is installing a new park.

The equipment will cost $7,500. Some $3,000 of that money will come from community fundraising efforts spearheaded by the Valentine family of Twin Lakes. The village was committed to matching the fundraising and on Monday village President Howard Skinner said he could and would authorize the additional $1,500 to complete the deal.

The next task will be to transport the equipment from Lake Geneva to Twin Lakes. Calkins said anyone with appropriate vehicles can volunteer to help by calling him at 877-9302.
