Aug. 12 will be the next Silver Lake Citizens for Growth Sunday Dance from 2 to 5 p.m. at the American Legion Hall on Cogswell Drive in Silver Lake.
The dances are open to adults 20 and over. The cost is $5, all of which goes to the band for payment. The Legion has been putting together a special dinner each Sunday for a nominal price in addition to being able to order off the regular menu.
Organizers say that the Aug. 12 date could be the last if more people do not attend. The dances have been taking place on the second and fourth Sundays of every month.
“Everyone who has come to the dance has enjoyed themselves but we need to get them to come back!” said Jo Lasdasky, Silver Lake Citizens for Growth member. “The band is willing to play for what we make at the door, but they really don’t like playing to an empty room.”
While the group would love to have a strong hometown turnout, the dance is not limited just to Silver Lake residents. Anyone from anywhere is invited.
