The Aquanut Water Ski Team, based in Twin Lakes, celebrated their 40th year of show skiing in ï¬ne style last weekend with outstanding individual performances, as well as providing a crowd pleasing performance of their show “Charlie Tuna Invades Rock Ridge†at the Wisconsin State Tournament, securing a 4th place ï¬nish.
Highlights from the show are the 24 lady ballet line, a second ballet line consisting of 30 ladies and an Aquanut ï¬rst “thread the needle pick up†ballet start.
Other acts in the show include the barefooting Koehler Sisters, members of the US barefoot team, Jarad Meyer; trick skiing, Kendall Krieger; swivel skiing, jump teams, David Thornton in the Sky Ski, prefab and grand pyramid teams, as well as the traditional show skiing double and trio teams.
Individual award winning team members at the Wisconsin State 2012 tournament:
- Jarad Meyer, 15, from Twin Lakes, second consecutive year as Wisconsin’s Best Trick Skier.
- Ariana Koehler, 17, from Wauconda, IL, “2012 Most Valuable Female Skier” and member of the US Elite Barefoot Team.
- Kendall Krieger, Lake Bluff, IL , 15, placed second in the swivel competition, followed by Kaila Coffey, Silver Lake, 14, in fourth place and Olivia Shulda, 20, Twin Lakes, fifth place in the individual swivel skiing competition.
This year’s Aquanuts show directors are Andy Amore and Ken Meyer, both long time members of the team who have worked hard to bring outstanding shows to Lance Park in Twin Lakes.
Shows are every Wednesday and Saturday at 6 pm, until Labor Day, off Lance Park.
