Three of Wimot Raceway’s weekly classes joined a special program on Saturday night as the 3/8 mile clay oval was visited by the Stark Automotive Group/Mid-State Equipment Badger Midget Series and POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series.

The combined sanction midget event was captured by Missouri’s Andrew Felker.

The pit area swelled to nearly 100 competitors in the four classes on hand. Winning drivers in the Don’s Auto & Machine / Hoosier Tire Modifieds and R.A. Adams Enterprises / Advance Auto Parts Street Stocks would donate their winnings to charity.

Jason Hyerdall topped the main event in the Modified class while Rob Maule broke the win streak of Charlie Pinkalla in the Street Stocks. Both racers donated their earnings to the Heartofgoldcharity.org The charity strives to provide resources for families dealing with the overwhelming effects of congenital heart defects and HLHS. Heart defects account for one percent of all problems that families and their newborns encounter after birth.

Dan Uttech earned his first Fec’s Place / Outlaw Race Parts mini-sprint division victory of the season.

In modified action a field of 22 drivers would accept the green flag for the feature contest. Hyerdall coming from the third row would race his way to the front to accept the checkered flag for the second time this season fending off the challenges of Scott Kuxhouse for the victory. Kuxhouse, a five time track champion in the class has been the man to beat of late and with his second place finish this evening he has closed in on the point lead in his season long duel with defending division champion Chris Carlson. Joel Crowbridge who had started in the twelfth spot steadily worked his way forward into contention but would have to settle for a third place finish. Jeff Bodendorfer Jr. would bring his ride home in fourth with David Jaeger earning fifth after passing the most cars in the event, advancing from a 20th place start.

In Street Stock action a B-main was needed to narrow the field down to the 20 starters that would see feature action. Cody Erickson would top the B-main event and would be the highest finisher of those cars transferring to the main event taking tenth place. In the main event, fifth starting Rob Maule spent a majority of the contest racing side by side with polesitter Ronnie Mink for the lead position. Maule would eventually take to top spot and go on to collect the checkered flag. In doing so he stopped point leader Charlie Pinkalla from extending his win streak. Pinkalla was seeking his fourth straight victory. Mink who lead much of the contest would settle for runner-up honors this evening in one of his best performances of the 2012 season. Dan Huber took third for the second straight week. Pinkalla saw his win streak come to an end with a fourth place finish and Dustin Richards completed the top five.

Mini-Sprint feature contest would see polesitter Dan Uttech outgun fellow front row starter Adam Schroder to earn his first feature win of the 2012 season. Schroeder would finish second. Andrew Kiedrewski captured third ahead of Doug Johnson and Mike Heinart. A huge field of 22 mini-sprints had started the contest.
