Lilly Lake Beach has been closed by the town after regular testing showed high levels of potentially harmful bacteria in the water, reports town Clerk Sheila Siegler.
Closed signs will be posted at the beach.
Results from July 9 showed 1203 cfu/100mls. A result above 1000/100mls results in a closure under the town’s guidelines.
The July 2 results showed just 13 cfu/100mls.
This is the first beach closure at Lilly Lake this season.
So I don’t have the Right to swim if i want to. I can not choose what I think is safe? See you at the beach later today.
