This year’s Fox River Clean Up will take place Saturday, July 21, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has announced.

Participants can enjoy a canoe ride down the Fox River while cleaning up the environment along the way. The event will encompass over 23 miles of the Fox River from the Waterford Dam to Wilmot. The event will begin at approximately 9 a.m. and end around 2 p.m. with a complimentary lunch provided by the Burlington Conservation Club afterwards.

In past years, volunteers have removed hundreds of bags of garbage, dozens of tires, car parts, bicycles, lawn mowers, and computer monitors. Necessary equipment includes old work clothes, gloves, and some sunscreen to enjoy this outdoor adventure. Bring a canoe and life jacket if you have them, too.

If interested in participating, please contact WDNR Conservation Warden Kyle Dilley at 262-878-5612 or kyle.dilley@wisconsin.gov.
