Father’s Day June 17 will be highly anticipated return To Wilmot Raceway of the UMP Late Model Summer Nationals Hell Tour. The tour which competes in 28 events in a 30 day span last competed at Wilmot in 2010, and this weekends visit will be the only in southeast Wisconsin as stop number 5 of the grueling “Hell Tour” roars in Sunday night.
Late Model stars representing numerous states will be on hand aiming for the $5000 winner’s share. Stars such as Brian Birkhoffer, Shannon Babb, Jason Feger, Dennis Erb Jr, Kevin Weaver, Billy Moyer Jr, Brian Shirley, Ryan Unzicker, Jon Henry, Frankie Heckenast, Mike Spatola, Russ Scheffler, Chris Carlson, teenage sensation Bobby Pierce, and Brandon Sheppherd wheeling the famous Rocket Chassis house car are all expected, plus many, many more. Joining the Late Models will be the inaugural event of the new Badger Mod Tour, which is bringing the best Modified drivers in Wisconsin together for a first ever shootout paying the winner $1000. Also on Sunday’s card will be Wilmot Raceways’ own R.A Adams Enterprises / Advance Auto Parts Street Stocks. Wilmot Raceway has the most competitive Street Stock division in the state and they’ll be showcasing their talent in a full point paying race as part of this big 3 division Father’s Day evening special event. Pit gates open at 2, grandstand gates 4, with on track activity to begin around 5:15.
The Big 3 Tripleheader concludes on Saturday night June 23 as the Thunder & Lightning of the USAC Amsoil National Sprint Series storm into Wilmot. It’s been well over a decade since the best in non-wing Sprint Car racing took to the third-mile Wilmot clay. Levi Jones driving for NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart leads a very talented field to Wilmot which includes Jon Stambrough, Bryan Clauson, Dave Darland, Tracy Hines, Damien Gardner, and many, many more including Wilmot Raceway Sprint Champion Tommy Sexton who will be taking the wing off for this special event. (Sprint Teams note there is only a $40 entry fee, and a Hoosier RR required to compete in this event). Joing the USAC National Sprint Cars will be Wilmots’ own Fec’s Place / Outlaw Race Parts Mini Sprints, Don’s Auto & Machine / Hoosier Tire Modifieds, and the Massive Speed / Hawg Heaven 4’s all competing in full point shows.
Family Night on June 30 and Paul Stender’s Jet Rocket Thrill Show headlining Antioch Night on July 7th, the Powri/Badger Midgets on July 14, and the big IRA / All-Star Circuit of Champions co-sanctioned 410 winged Sprint Car special on July 21, and the 2nd Annual Tommy Homan Memorial Street Stock special on July 28.
