Fireworks will again light up the sky over Silver Lake this summer after action by the Silver Lake Village Board Wednesday night.
The board approved the use of a barge on the lake for the display on Saturday, July 7 at dusk (about 9:30 p.m.). The display will coincide with the Silver Lake Fire Department’s annual festival fundraiser July 6 and 7.
In discussion of the topic it was reported that the Silver Lake Citizens for Growth will fund the display for $3,000. The money was raised through various fundraisers.
The grass roots effort to bring fireworks back to the village got started in 2011 and was sucessful in raising enough for a display last year as well.
