Boy Scout makes proper flag disposal convenient as part of Eagle project

/Submitted photo

Nicholas Bielski of Salem Boy Scout Troop 328 has placed flag disposal units at three local businesses to facilitate the proper disposal of old or worn American flags.

Flags can be deposited in the containers and then will be collected at these sites on a permanent basis and them properly retired by troop members.

The boxes are located at:

  • Lakeside Sentry in Village Plaza, Highways 50 and 83/75, Paddock Lake.
  • Community Library, Salem branch, Highways 83 and AH, Salem.
  • Bristol 45 Diner, 8321 200th Ave., Bristol.

The project was spearheaded by Bielski as fulfillment of a requirement of his pursuit of the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest ranking possible.
