The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department will be sponsoring an ATV Safety Course on June 12 and 13.
Anyone born on or after Jan. 1, 1988 who is at least 12 years old must complete an ATV safety certification course in order to operate on public ATV trails and areas in Wisconsin.
The course begins at the Public Safety Building, 1000- 55st St., Kenosha, with class room instruction on day 1, and then proceeds to a practical riding exam on day 2. The cost of the class is $10.
Anyone interested in attending must register for the class by calling the Kenosha Sheriff’s Department at 605-5100. Class size is limited, therefore early registration is recommended.
All attendees are required to have a DNR Customer ID Number when they arrive for the class. Wisconsin DNR Customer ID numbers can be obtained by calling the DNR customer service from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. at 1-888-936-7463.
