Bristol United Methodist Church planning 125th anniversary activities

Members of Bristol United Methodist Church are celebrating its 125th anniversary in 2012.

The original building, located on Highway 45 in Bristol, one-half mile south of highway 50, was completed in 1887. Extensive remodeling was done in the 1960s, but the original sanctuary remains as the congregational center for worship.

A special two-day celebration on Nov. 10 and 11, 2012 and monthly Memorable Moments are among the activities planned by the Anniversary Committee. Members, former members and friends of the church are invited to attend the Saturday supper and Sunday worship service on the Celebration weekend.

In addition, the committee requests that anyone with church pictures, videos and/or other memorabilia, especially from the past 25 years, contact the church (857-2961). Pictures from any of the organizations (Adult Choir, Children’s Choir, Chime Choir, United Methodist Women, Sunday School, Bible Study, etc), special events (Baptisms, weddings, confirmations) and other activities (picnics, Christmas programs, Vacation Bible School) would be appreciated. Anyone wishing to share a special memory of the church should also call the church; a member of the committee will be in touch.
