You might be wondering where the story is on westofthei.com about a Silver Lake elected official and another prominent citizen that is getting some play elsewhere in the media.
We are aware of the situation. We have the police report. But it’s been our practice, under sound legal advice, to not connect people in our posts with specific criminal charges until they have been formally charged. We don’t see any reason in the nature of this story to make an exception. When these individuals are formally charged — not just recommended for charges — we will report on that with names.
This is not a new policy, but one we have long followed, including for people accused of much more serious offenses than in this situation.
