The Hope Council on Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse will offer free screening for alcohol and other drug problems on Thursday, April 5 to individuals who may question if their use of alcohol or other drugs or that of a loved one is risky or abusive.
The screening is in recognition of National Alcohol Screening Day and will take place at the Hope Council, 5942 Sixth Avenue, Kenosha, from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. No appointments are necessary.
National Alcohol Screening Day is an outreach, education and screening program that raises awareness about alcohol misuse, abuse and dependency and refers individuals with alcohol challenges for further evaluation and/or treatment. The Hope Council invites the community to stop in, see the facility, participate in screening and/or education and prevention activities, and receive free alcohol and other drug screening and resource information.
The services of the Hope Council include educating underage drinkers, assessing impaired drivers, educating school children on a variety of topics, assisting in workforce readiness and providing a supervised visitation program at an affordable cost to parents in need.
