The Silver Lake American Legion, and the Silver Lake Citizens for Growth will be hosting dance and music every other Sunday The jams will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. with a small cost of $5 per person.
The American Legion will have food and beverages for purchase.
These events are open for everyone ages 20+ to attend. Come out and meet your neighbors and have fun doing it. The first “session” will have a small core band and other individuals can come and play with them. So maybe Uncle Henry can play the guitar, Cousin Ernie can play trumpet, and Aunt Ruth plays keyboard, this is the time for you to come and show off your talents and have fun. Bring the family and all the cousins and enjoy a Sunday afternoon in Silver Lake.
The next session will feature a band “Still Kickin’ JB (Just Barely)â€. They will be the featured band every second Sunday each month starting April 15. This band has a following and some of their regulars have offered to teach line dancing. Now that’s the kind of dance that everyone can learn and have fun with. The upcoming dance schedule is as follows and then every 2nd & 4th Sunday thereafter so mark your calendars: April 15, April 29, May 13, May 27 and so on.
