Silver Lake will seek to add the area around the village boat launch to the partsh of the lake included in its yearly chemical aquatic weed kill program.
The Village Board decided to add the launch area during discussion before approving this year’s weed kill program.
Trustee Barbara Ironside made the suggestion, saying that the area around the launch was so weedy last year that it sometimes was difficult to launch boats.
“That’s a great idea,” village President Jeff Albrecht said of adding the launch area.
Typically the village has done aquatic weed control around the DeWitt Park beach.
The approval was for $750 to contractor Lake and Pond Solutions. The amount paid by the village will be about $163 less if the Wisconsin Lakeland Property Owners Assocation agrees to have its area also part of the kill area.
