At 6:15 p.m., Town of Wheatland Fire Department and Twin Lakes Rescue are responding for a report of a grass fire in the 5700 block of Highway 83 (north) in Wheatland.
Dispatch reports that fire spread from a fire pit.
UPDATE 6:19 p.m. — Rescue is holding in quarters until further notice, by authority of Wheatland command.
UPDATE 6:21 p.m. — Homeowner estimates fire to be about 50 feet wide, dispatch reports.
UPDATE 6:22 p.m. — Wheatland Fire Department requests additional manpower.
