Apparently WI DOT wants to put a roundabout in at the intersection of Rte 45 and County K.

I believe Roundabouts look better only on paper than they do in asphalt and concrete with big trucks trying to negotiate them. They tend to impede traffic on lightly traveled roads and experience higher accident rates.

On their behalf, I admit they are trendy and very ‘European.’ Unfortunately, WI – DOT seems to favor them, even when local public safety officers don’t. As is the case in Paris township, according to the minutes of their December 22, 2011 meeting.

If you use travel through the Intersection of K and 45, you might want to tell WI-DOT your thoughts, before they commit to spending your tax dollars to impede your transiting that intersection.

Remember March 12 at the Kenosha County Building at 50 and 45, 7 PM.

They work FOR us don’t they?
