A word from our sponsors: Brighton School scheduling personal tours for prospective open enrollment families

Note: From time to time, we bring you news from West of the I sponsors. The following is from current advertiser Brighton School:

Brighton School District #1 would like to invite all families seeking a K – 8 learning experience that provides students with a positive learning environment, quality educational programs, caring and knowledgeable staff members, and services that promote outstanding student achievement to schedule a personal school tour now through April 30, 2012.

Established in 1962, Brighton has a long history of academic excellence with an emphasis on instilling positive behaviors and attitudes as part of a strong foundational education. Our school district is recognized throughout the region for high learning standards and quality educational programs. Our students continue to shine in academics by repeatedly scoring well above the state average and ranking among the highest in Western Kenosha County on the annual Wisconsin Knowledge and Concepts Exam (WKCE), showing our staff, students, parents and community members dedication and commitment to excellence.

We are committed to preparing our students for the 21st Century and helping them develop into respectful young adults. Our K-8 curriculum follows the Common Core Standards adopted by the State of Wisconsin and integrates technology to facilitate learning so that students have the knowledge and skills to be productive members of a global society. All core academics are taught daily. Students experience music, art, physical education, health, and library/media skills taught by certified specialists. Spanish instruction begins in Kindergarten and is taught through eighth grade. Believing that all children are unique learners, Brighton provides additional support for our accelerated learners and our challenged learners. For this reason, the district’s strategic plan and its tactical allocation of resources fortifies our commitment to helping each and every STAR -the children we serve – reach their full potential in an increasing complex and dynamic world.

Prospective open enrollment families may schedule a personal school tour and request a student visitation day by contacting Dr. William White, Principal and District Administrator, at (262) 878-2191 or by email at wwhite@brighton.k12.wi.us. Additional information regarding the benefits of our school and open enrollment application process is available at www.brighton.k12.wi.us. I am confident that you will enjoy your experience at Brighton as you will be surrounded by many bright STARS!
