Hector Acuna’ Eagle Scout Court of Honor Ceremony was held at Salem United Methodist Church on Jan. 21.
Hector is the son of Mary Acuna.
The rank of Eagle Scout is the highest honor attainable through the Boy Scouts of America
Hector is a member of Troop 328 in Salem. During his time in By Scouts,Hector has served as Senior Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Assistant Patrol Leader, Troop Guide, Historian, and Scribe, and was admitted into the Order of the Arrow. He earned a total of 36 Merit Badges, completed over 60 volunteer hours, and camped more than 80 nights in pursuing the rank of Eagle Scout.
As part of his pursuit of Eagle Scout Rank, Hector completed a project to benefit Bong State Recreation Area in Brighton. Hector planned and organized the installation of an emergency bench system for the park, coordinating his efforts with local fire departments and park staff. He collected donations for the materials, organized volunteers, and supervised the completion of the project.
At the Court of Honor, State Rep. Smantha Kerkman presented Acuna with a state citation on behalf of herself and state Sen. Bob Wirch.
Hector is a student at University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
