An open house for the North Mill Creek-Dutch Gap Canal Watershed Plan will be held from 4:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25 at Lake Villa Library, 1001 E Grand Ave, Lake Villa.
This will be the last informational meeting prior to close of the public review period for the watershed plan on Feb. 15.
Presentations about the plan will be held at 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. with opportunities to review poster information about the watershed, discuss issues with staff and ask questions or submit comments following the presentations.
The North Mill Creek-Dutch Gap Canal watershed is a subwatershed of the larger Des Plaines River Basin and encompasses approximately 23,532 acres or 37 square miles in north central Lake County, Illinois and south central Kenosha County (parts of southern Bristol and Salem)
The official public hearing prior to adoption of the watershed plan will be held on Feb. 2 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Lake County Government Center in Waukegan, but written or verbal comments can be submitted at any time through Feb. 15 to Lake County Stormwater Management Commission.
