With the winter weather arriving Thursday, Pringle Nature Center has snowshoes for the general public to rent and use within the Bristol Woods County Park.

Patrons can rent snowshoes Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 3 p.m. They must remain on the property and be returned by 3:30 p.m. Snowshoes are $5/pair and poles are $2/pair. There must also be at least 3 inches of snow on the ground to use the snowshoes.

Snowshoeing is a great family activity to explore the park as well as providing a cardio workout while building strength, agility, balance and endurance. No experience is needed to try out this fun wintertime activity.

Pringle will also be offering guided snowshoe hikes and other snowshoeing events throughout the season. Check out Pringle’s Calendar of Events on their website for dates, times, and locations.

Pringle Nature Center is located in within the 197 acres of Bristol Woods County Park On Highway MB south of Highway C. This beautiful park contains upland forest, wetlands, oak savanna remnants, prairie and lawn areas to explore. Within the woods are four miles of trails that are used for bird and wildlife observation, nature education walks, hiking and cross county skiing. The nature center’s winter hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 4 p.m.
