Are you a farmer who has thought about selling to a distributor but wasn’t sure what to expect or if it would be a profitable endeavor?
Midwest Foods, based out of Chicago is a distributor of fruits, vegetables, meats, eggs and more. Their customers include restaurants, schools, hotels, institutions, etc in five Midwestern states. Midwest Foods is committed to buying from local farmers and is looking for opportunities to buy local farm products. The Working with Distributors tour scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 1 leaves at 8 a.m. and returning around 4 p.m. On the tour, you’ll see how Midwest Foods manages their warehouse, their processing facility as well as tour an urban farm and visit the Chicago Market.
This bus tour will leave from the Kenosha County Center in Bristol. Costs to attend are $15, which will be collected on the day of the tour. Registration is required as space is limited on the bus to 25 people.
