Units responding to truck vs. house crash

At 5:56 p.m., Salem Fire/Rescue and sheriff’s deputies are responding to a report of a truck running into a home in the 8400 block of 273rd Avenue, Salem.

Home is believed to be unoccupied as it is used as a vacation home, dispatch says.

UPDATE 6 p.m. — Deputies discussing getting past a gate blocking access to the property.

UPDATE 6:01 p.m. — Patient is conscious and breathing, a deputy reports.

UPDATE 6:04 p.m. — Deputy requesting We Energies response to the scene.

UPDATE 6:09 p.m. — Deputy reports that gas meter for house appears to have been struck by truck.

UPDATE about 6:25 p.m. — One person being transported by ambulance from the scene to a Pleasant Prairie hospital.

UPDATE 6:35 p.m. — Tow being called to scene.
