Francis "Pinky" Held
Francis “Pinky†J. Held: 80 years old of Bristol/Kenosha, WI passed away Thursday December 22, 2011 at St. Luke Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI. He was born December 28, 1930 in Burlington, WI the son of the late Edward and Rose (Brickner) Held. Pinky lived in Lyons, WI for many years before moving to Bristol in 1955. In his younger years, Francis had operated heavy equipment for the Army Corps of Engineers in Alaska, later working for American Motors, and for most of his life has worked as a brick layer/mason with Union Local #20 of Waukegan. On June 18, 1955 he married Ann Carney at St. Scholastica Church, Bristol, WI. Survivors include: his wife of 56 years Ann; five children: Susan (Kenneth) Plants of Bristol, WI, Sheila (Donald) Biehn of Bristol, Hugh Held of Los Angeles, CA, Maureen (Scott) Shymanski of Paris, WI, and Thomas (Jeanette) of Bristol; 12 grandchildren: Keith Plants, Jacob (Mary) Plants, Ryan (Jennifer) Plants, Chad (Erin) Plants, Brian (Kim) Biehn, Lisa (Brandon) Littel, Kaitlin Biehn, Emily (Kurt Madar) Shymanski, Amy Shymanski, Ben (Amberly) Shymanski, Trent Smith, and Travis Smith; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister Geraldine Rossmiller of Burlington, WI; a brother Jim (Barb) Held of Lyons, WI, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services with mass of Christian burial will be held 11AM Wednesday December 28, 2011 at Holy Cross Church 18700 116th. St. Bristol, WI 53104. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
