Carlene Polzin won $6,250 by picking the jack of spades in Westosha Kiwanis Club’s Jack of Spades fundraiser on Sunday at 75th Street Inn, Salem.

The Westosha Kiwanis Club launched the new fundraiser in January. It gave participants a chance to win cash and the club an opportunity to raise funds for its community service projects. The fundraiser had a progressive pot and continued until the jack of spades is drawn. When the jack of spades is drawn, the holder of that card wins 60 percent of the pot if present and 30 percent if not.

The club will use money raised by the drawing to fund community service projects.

A new drawing will be started Sunday, Dec. 11 at Drifter’s Bar & Grill.
