The Central High School German Class hosted a public memorial service on Thursday evening in the school’s cafetorium, to honor late German teacher Capt. David A. Novaez.
Captain Novaez and his wife both passed away as the result of a motorcycle accident on Oct. 9.
About 80 people attened the event.
Thos attending were able to share their memories and view various exhibits drawn from Novaez; varied interests in life.
Also unveiled at the memorial was a large memory box of artifacts from Novaez’s life. Dustin Beth, one of the students who helped organize the event, said the box will remain at school for the balance of the school year. Novaez’s family will then decide what to do with it for the future.
