Event this weekend to benefit Mike Devries

A benefit for the Mike Devries Foundation will take place Nov. 19 at the Brat Stop-Parkway Chateau (entrance C) and feature food, games, live music, magic, raffles and other fun.

Mike Devries,  a Lily Lake resident, was involved in an accident in Feb. 2008 when his truck hit black ice and rolled over. Devries is now  paralyzed from the waste down and uses a wheelchair.

The foundation is attempting to raise enough money to build Devries and his two daughters an accessible home on a lot donated by Harpe Development, said David Melone, one of the organizers of the event.

The event is all ages until 6 p.m. Admission is $10. Hours are noon to midnight.

Included in the entertainment will be a magic show by Villa the magician at 1 p.m., rffles every hour and muscial performances by:

  • FLOOG.
  • Notch.
  • Fur Coats for Sportsmen.
  • Donoma.
  • Snooze Button Malfunction.
  • Defy.
  • Product of Hate.
  • Cookie Crotch Nuts.
