Orientation for anyone interested in 2012 Master Gardener Volunteer Program will be held Monday, Nov. 7, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Kenosha County Center, 19600 75th St., Bristol.
This session is an opportunity to learn more about the Master Gardener Volunteer program, the training course and volunteer projects. Attendance is required to apply for the classes.
Master Gardener Volunteer training is only offered through UW-Extension, and is a program dedicated to educating adults interested in helping their community through informative programs and projects. In Kenosha and Racine counties, Master Gardener Volunteers answer gardening questions, present educational programs, design and maintain demonstration and therapeutic gardens, and help youth and adults learn about and appreciate the natural world.
2012 Master Gardener Level 1 Training will be held Mondays, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. from Jan. 16 through May 7. Class location alternates between Bristol and Burlington. The course fee is $150 which includes textbooks and materials.
