At about 6:25 a.m., sheriff’s deputies are responding to a report of two horses in the road that appears to have been stuck by a vehicle in the 30300 block of 31st Street, Brighton.
UPDATE 6:33 a.m. — Deputy on scene reports finding one horse, which is up and walking around. No vehicle on the scene.
UPDATE 6:35 a.m. — Deputy has located owner of the horse at nearby farm.
UPDATE 6:41 a.m. — Dispatch reports that driver who struck the horse has called. Vehicle has severe damage. He was advised to stay put until contacted by deputies.
