Central HS boys cross country second at sectionals

The Central High School Boys Cross Country Team placed second (89 points) at the Sectionals meet held Saturday, Oct. 22 at UW-Parkside securing a return trip to the State meet in Wisconsin Rapids on Oct. 29.

Wilmot finished 12th with 338 points.

Kenosha teams Temper finished first with 86 points and Bradford was third with 99 points.

Leading the Falcon boys was Tyler Fiebelkorn who finished sixth with a time of 16:32.4. Fiebelkorn was followed closely by teammate, Casey Merrill, who finished seventh with a time of 16:33.6. Next for Central were Brian Sockness, 23rd (17:16.3); Grant Mackinnon, 24th (17:17.0); Corbin Bevry, 29th (17:27.4); Charles Lamp, 32nd (17:34.3); and Jack Ray, 63rd (18:57.8).

Wilmot ‘s lead runner was Matt Wagemann who place 39th with a time of 18:03.9.

Central girls placed fourth (112) behind Tremper (38), Waterford (97), and Lake Geneva Badger (99). Central’s lead runner, Joanne Reiners, finished 10th with a time of 16:07.5. She was followed closely by teammates Maria Sabourin, (14th, 16:20.1) and Rebecca Lamp (19th, 16:29.8).

Wilmot girls placed 10th with 247 points. Wilmot’s top runner, Joanna Stozek, finished 34th with a time of 16:51.5; teammate Amy O’Connell placed 41st with a time of 17:03.6.
