Units responding for motorcycle and car crash; motorcyclist pronounced dead

At 2:53 p.m., sheriff’s deputies, Twin Lakes Rescue and Town of Wheatland Fire Department are responding to a report of a crash in the 6500 block of 400th Avenue, Wheatland.

Dispatch reports that they have received a call that the motorcyclist involved is laying on the ground and is not conscious or breathing.

UPDATE 3:01 p.m. — Personnel at scene asks dispatch to call for Flight for Life Medical Transport Helicopter to respond.

UPDATE 3:04 p.m. — Flight for Life estimated time of arrival about 3:20 p.m.

UPDATE 3:10 p.m. — Flight for Life is in the air and will be landing at a Burlington hospital, dispatch reports.

UPDATE 4:41 p.m. — The driver of the motorycle, from Wheatland, has died as a result of the crash. The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department has issued the following statement regarding the crash:

At 1451 hours today Kenosha County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a fatal accident at the intersection of CTH P (400 Ave) at 396th Ave in the Town of Wheatland. A Chevy Blazer, driven by a 20 year old man from Wheatland pulled out from the stop sign at CTH P into the path of a motorcycle, which was northbound on CTH P. The driver of the motorcycle was fatally injured. The passenger on the motorcycle was seriously injured with a severed leg. Both the occupants of the motorcycle are from the Town of Wheatland. Both of the occupants of the motorcycle were wearing their helmets. Specific details of the accident and about the involved parties are being withheld until notification of family can be made and the investigation completed.
