If you drive on Geneva Road (Old Highway 50) through New Munster in Wheatland, you might want to start slowing down.
The Wheatland Town Board recently adopted an ordinance that will lower the speed limit to 25 mph on Geneva Road from Highway KD to Highway 50.
The lower speed limit will go into effect as soon as signs are up – within the next week, estimated town Clerk Sheila Siegler.
The board began considering the change after a citizen spoke to the board about safety concerns at a meeting in July.
