Friday, Sept. 9 was a magical evening for participants in Randall Consolidated School’s Summer Reading Program Fundraiser. Students who submitted summer reading logs and pledges were invited to visit Laurel Tenhagen, an art teacher at Randall Consolidated School, as she fulfilled a promise to students to spend a night on the school’s playground. The students roasted marshmallows with Tenhagen and read her their favorite books before saying, “Goodnight.” The Summer Reading Program Fundraiser participants read over 14,000 minutes and raised over $500 for the school’s playground renovation fund.
