Man severely injured after car strikes walkway and tree

A Genoa City man was severely injured after the car he was driving left the road and struck a walkway and tree late Tuesday evening in Randall.

According to a Sheriff’s Department report, a vehicle driven by a 38-year-old Genoa City man drifted off the road in the 39900 block of 93rd Street and struck a wooden walkway leading to a porch and came to rest against a tree.

The man suffered an “incapacitating injury” and was trapped in the vehicle before being freed by fire and rescue personnel, the report said.

Investigation of the crash in ongoing, said Sgt. Bill Beth, Sheriff’s Department spokesman.
