Bristol Grade School’s PTA will be having a Walk-A-Thon Oct. 1, from noon to 4 p.m.
Part of the festivities will include a silent auction and raffle. Organizers are seeking merchandise, gift baskets, gift certificates or anything else appropriate to be auctioned/raffled off at the event. There are over 675 students at Bristol School, and attendance for the Walk-A-Thon is expected to be well over 1,000 people. All of the proceeds from this event go back to the students for things like:
- Paying a portion of each student’s field trips throughout the school year.
- Bristol Bucks merchandise, which is a program where the students earn Bristol Bucks for positive behavior and learning and in the process, get trips every so often to the Bristol Bucks store to get things for themselves and at Christmas, for their family members.
- Helping pay for the 8th Grade Graduation dance and banquet.
Supporting companies will have the opportunity to distribute business materials at the event, and most importantly, will be given advertising space in our 2011-12 school directory. The directory is used by students and parents throughout the year, so it provides great local business exposure.
