Paris town employees to see new pay days

The Paris Town Board changed the day its employees will be paid to make it easier to get the checks out in time.

The change was initiated by town Clerk Beverly McCumber. She explained that the old dates of the first and third Friday sometimes provided a short time frame to get the paperwork through the three people necessary when the first Friday fell on one of the first days of the month.

“It doesn’t give us enough time,” McCumber said.

At first she had proposed a monthly pay date, but that proved problematic. Eventually, the second and fourth Fridays were proposed and that was approved unanimously by the Town Board Monday.
