A word about our sponsors: Presence at the Kenosha County Fair

Michael Mielke's mango lime with chocolate cookie crust pie.

Here at westofthei.com we try to be a positive part of the community and we are proud to point out that our sponsors also are community-minded people.

For example, our sponsors were quite visible at the Kenosha County Fair, participating and contributing in various ways:

  • Dan Weis, of Lakeland Septic Service, was showing in the open class dairy show. Lakeland also was a sponsor of the Fairest of the Fair contest (as was westofthei.com).
  • Did you see that large private party for county employees on the fairgrounds on Sunday? Luisa’s Restaurant was the caterer and fed 1,100 attendees.
  • Did you get a feather hair extension in the Commercial Building from Ruth’s Hairlines?
  • Dan Fisher, of Fisher Investments, put in time working at the Westosha Kiwanis Food Booth.
  • If you were a lucky participant in Friday’s children’s parade, you got a bag of Goldfish Crackers in your goodies bag courtesy of Reliable Heating and Air Conditioning.
  • Michael Mielke, of Mielke Stair Company, entered a tempting looking pie in the open class foods competition. The flavor? Mango lime with chocolate cookie crust. When I took the above photo, the superintendent said I had to have permission to try some. Gotta remember to clear that ahead of time next year!

We really do have talented sponsors!

It would be nice if there could be times that the various shows would be and the location. We enjoy the pig races and missed them both times at the fair. Otherwise was a good Fair.
