Cancer benefit for Melissa Piktel Family at Kenosha Bowmen Aug. 20

Kenosha Bowmen’s “Heide’s Rendezvous Benefit” benefit for the Melissa Piktel Family will be held Aug. 20, from 2 to 11 p.m.

The benefit will feature live music, picnic/pig roast, kids games, live and silent auctions, raffles. A $10 raffle ticket includes a meal — served from 4 to 7 p.m. Bands “Trip” and “Dirty Looks” will perform.

Melissa Piktel was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in April of 2010. She has spent the last year in and out of the hospital attempting to treat and stop the progression of this aggressive disease. She has a loving husband (Jim) and two loving children (Jessica, 15 and Jimi Jr. ,12).

An Archery Shoot on Aug. 20 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Aug. 21 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. also will be held with 28 3-D targets, sprayed ranges, door prizes, novelties and breakfast and lunch served Saturday and Sunday. Shoot Fees: $12 Non-Member, $10 Member.

Kenosha Bowmen is located on Highway 50, west of I-94 in Bristol.

Monetary donations can be made at any Johnson Bank under the “Piktel Family Benefit Fund” or at First Midwest Bank at 1011 14th St, North Chicago, IL 60064.
