Several streets in Bristol are set for the process called slurry sealing this week.

The thin coat of seal helps extend the life of roads, but does require that the roads not be driven on for a few hours, said village administrator Randy Kerkman.

Effected homeowners have been notified by the village by letter and also by the contractor.

Streets scheduled for the work are:

  • 201st, 202nd and 203rd Avenue  between 81st and 82nd Streets (including the streets).
  • 214th Avenue in the Lake Shangri-la area.
  • Nelson Subdivision north of Highway C.
  • 176th Avenue north of Highway C.
  • 195th Avenue north of 83rd Street.
The work is costing about $84,000 and will be done by Struck & Irwin of DeForest, the low bidder of three.

Typical Bristol — will not approve Sewers in a certain subdivision but keep paving roads….
