At 7:58 a.m., the area is under a severe thunderstorm warning — issued by the National Weather Service — until 8:30 a.m.

UPDATE 8:01 a.m. — Power out in our neck of the woods of Paddock Lake.

UPDATE 8:08 a.m. — Traffic signals out at Highways C and 45.

UPDATE 8:11 a.m. — Twin Lakes Rescue sending a squad to Richmond as mutual aid. Radar for our area shows worst of storm over us now, but a lot of rain behind.

UPDATE 8:15 a.m. — Deputy advises that several trees down in Lake Shangri-la area.

UPDATE 8:16 a.m. — Bristol Fire and Rescue responding to the 17600 block of Highway CJ for a motorist trapped by trees.

UPDATE 8:24 a.m. — Deputy checking out report of a road hazard at Highway 75 and JB.

UPDATE 8:30 a.m. — 12100 block of 221st Street — wires down.

UPDATE 8:34 a.m. — Wires down on garage in 23300 block of 124th Place. No sparks seen.

UPDATE 8:39 a.m. — Salem Fire/Rescue responding to 23600 block of 126th Street for wires down and arcing.

UPDATE 8:44 a.m. — Deputies working to clear branches in 15600 block of Horton Road. Road completely blocked.

UPDATE 8:46 a.m. — Cable wire down in 3100 block of East Lakeshore Drive, Twin Lakes. Wire down across road.

UPDATE 8:49 a.m. — Small fire now being reported in yard in 23600 block of 126th Street.

UPDATE 8:52 a.m. — As of latest available radar, worst of storm is over Lake Michigan, but there could be a rain for quite a while yet.

UPDATE 8:57 a.m. — Deputy checking out report of a tree down and blocking one lane of Highway JB west of Highway 45.

UPDATE 9:01 a.m. — We Energies outage map shows largest outage in Lake Shangri-la to Highway 45 area. Also 560 customers without power in Camp Lake area. Scattered outages also in Wheatland, Trevor and Salem.

UPDATE 9:24 a.m. — Tree partially blocking southbound lanes of Highway 83 at about 12100 block. Cars able to pass, deputy says.

UPDATE 9:29 a.m. — Twin Lakes Fire Department responding to Richmond for mutual aid. Working fire in the wall of a building in the 10000 block of Hillshire.

UPDATE 9:30 a.m. — Silver Lake Fire Department responding to report of wires down in 200 block of Depot Street.
