The band Chase Promenade, from Wilmot High School, recently competed in the WSMA Launchpad Competition in Madison, which is a statewide alternative music competition for Wisconsin high school students who are in bands formed outside of the traditional music classroom ensembles.

The band competed in a regional competition on May 13, one of four regional competitions held throughout the state, with a total of 60 bands competing. Chase was selected as a finalist for their region. Chase then competed on Saturday, June 11, in Madison at the Launchpad Competition Finals and was chosen as the State Finals Winner. The grand prize package consisted of the prestigious Les Paul Launchpad Award, 12 hours at a professional recording studio, a Yamaha music package for their high school, and a 2011 Summerfest gig on July 10.

The band consists of Brandon Kempf, Tony Diaz, Matt Spatol, and Billy Akers.

Chase Promenade will be playing this summer at the following locations:

  • Summer Soulstice – Milwaukee – June 18
  • Summerfest – July 6 – Kohls Stage – time to be determined
  • Summerfest – July 8 – Potawatomi Stage – time to be determined
  • Summerfest – July 10 – M&I Classic Rock Stage – 12 to 1:15 p.m.
