Workshop on helping grieving children is Monday

A workshop entitled “How to Help a Grieving Child” will be held by MargaretAnn’s Place, Wisconsin’s Center of Hope for Grieving Children, on Monday, June 13 at 6 p.m. at the Salem Community Library, 24615 89th St., Salem.

The workshop, designed for parents, caregivers, and educators, will cover such topics as how children express grief, the importance of helping children learn coping skills to deal with their emotions, and methods to help children begin the healing process and move toward creating healthy and productive futures.

MargaretAnn’s Place provides support, education and awareness for children and their families who are grieving a death of a significant person in their lives. MargaretAnn’s Place, founded in Kenosha in 1998, is the largest multi-site children’s grief program in Wisconsin.  Peer Support/Education groups are held throughout southeastern Wisconsin. MargaretAnn’s Place gives children and teens a safe place to express their profound feelings of grief. It creates a positive impact in their lives by encouraging them to develop lifelong coping skills which will assist them in creating a healthy and productive future.
