Central High School held a dedication for its tennis courts Sunday.
The courts were one of the last pieces of the facilities project to be completed. The project was funded by a multi-million referendum approved by voters in January 2009.
Conducting the ceremony were athletic director Kris Allison, district administrator Scott Pierce and tennis coaches Paul and Pat Brings. The team captains from Central’s tennis teams cut a ceremonial ribbon.
While the new courts have been a tremendous upgrade for the school teams, Paul Brings and other emphasized that the courts are also available to the community at large.
The courts have actually been in use since last fall.
Immediately after the dedication, the Western Kenosha County Tennis Association hosted an block party and registration for its summer programs, which will be held at Central this year for the first time.
