Severe thunderstorm warning issued

At 7:28 p.m, a severe thunderstorm warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for an area that includes Kenosha County.

The warning is in effect until 8:15 p.m.

Storms, moving from the west at over 65 mph, are expected to be over Twin Lakes at around 7:35 pm. and in Salem/Paddock Lake at about 7:40 p.m.

UPDATE 7:41 p.m. — Wind picking up and rain starting right on schedule in Paddock Lake.

UPDATE 7:42 p.m. — Twin Lakes dispatch reports a tree down on Main Street, Twin Lakes.

UPDATE 7:50 p.m. — Deputy has partially cleared road at Highways SA and F, where a tree fell down. Another tree down on SA south of Highway F is completely blocking road.

UPDATE 7:57 p.m. — Rain and wind have calmed in Paddock Lake. Still raining some.

UPDATE 8:04 p.m. — Twin Lakes police officer reports that a citizen appears to have removed a tree that was blocking the 400 block of Lake Avenue.

UPDATE 8:18 p.m. — Severe thunderstorm warning has expired. Tornado watch continues until 10 p.m.

UPDATE 8:30 p.m. — Reader reports “4 hugh trees down across road on NN inbetween 75 and B in Town of Brighton completely blocking road.”
