Central High School’s next two band concerts will be in a little different location — outside.
Band director Adam Scheele said holding the concerts just behind the school — approximately where the old football field was — is a bid to introduce a change of scenery.
“No one wants to be inside on a lazy Sunday afternoon,” Scheele said.
Scheele asks that those attending bring a chair or blanket to sit on.
If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the concerts will move to more conventional quarters inside the school building.
Details on the concerts — both planned for outdoors — are:
- Spring Concert ’11 featuring the Symphonic Band and Concert Band — Sunday, May 15 2:30 p.m. Music by Alfred Reed, Samuel R. Hazo, Dmitri Shostakovich, Hans Zimmer and more.
- Spring ’11 Jazz Concert featuring Jazz Central — Wednesday, May 18 at 6:30 p.m. Music by Steely Dan, The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Buddy Rich and much more.
