At 4:38 p.m., Salem Fire/Rescue and sheriff’s deputies are responding to a report of a transformer on fire at 248th Avenue and 71st Street, Paddock Lake.
Dispatch says several calls have been received from people seeing flames.
UPDATE 4:41 p.m. — Dispatch reports fire may now be out due to rain. Fire Department still responding.
UPDATE 4:44 p.m. — Nothing showing reports first fire unit on the scene.
UPDATE 4:45 p.m. — Fire personnel reports it was actually a tree across some wires that may have been burning. We Energies in route.
