The Stand Tall Against Alcohol coalition donated a portable Breathlyzer to the Twin Lakes Police Department Monday night.

Steve Fredriksson, representing the organization, said the donation was in recognition of the work the department has done to help the group’s aim of combating underage drinking throughout Kenosha County.

Here’s some video of the presentation:

Twin Lakes Police Chief Dale Racer said the department will assign the device for use by Water Patrol officers, after training. The department has used portable Breathlyzers for several years by patrol officers as a tool in the preliminary stages of alcohol related offenses, but the Water Patrol did not have a unit for its use.

Representatives of the police and Twin Lakes Fire Department also presented Fredriksson with a certificate of appreciation for participating in the annual National Night Out event.
