Paddock Lake celebrated Arbor Day Saturday with a tree planting in Pathway Glen Park.
The ceremony helps the village retain its Tree City USA designation. This is the 12th year the village has earned that honor.
The ceremony was co-ordinated by village Trustee Karen Harris. The Red Sunset Maple planted at the park was donated by Ludwig Nursery of Brighton.
State Rep. Samantha Kerkman spoke on the history and significance of Arbor Day, which promotes tree planting. Other elected officials in attendance were vilage Trsutee Patricia Warner and county Supervisor Mike Underhill.
