Paris School students blast off at reading assembly


Paris School students have been reading about space and related topics as this year’s all-school reading unit.

Students have been reading about space and demonstrating and building on their knowledge with a wide variety of activities including moon models, constellations, decorating a hallway of the school in a floor to ceiling space motif, solar system mobiles, planet poems and even demonstrating the phases of the moon with cookies.

The activity culminated in an all-school program Wednesday. Each grade prepared something related to the unit to share with the group, said Margie Blair, the school’s reading specialist who coordinates the reading unit.
