The Kenosha County Center in Bristol was the site of a special D.A.R.E. Night Activity Thursday evening for Western Kenosha County fifth graders.
The event included music from a DJ, a magic show and a raffle with numerous prizes. Hundreds of students attended.
The event was hosted by D.A.R.E officer Deputy Raymond Rowe and staffed by volunteer chaperones.
D.A.R.E. is a police officer-led series of classroom lessons that teaches children how to resist peer pressure and live productive drug and violence-free lives. D.A.R.E. was founded in 1983 in Los Angeles and is now implemented in 75 percent of the nation’s school districts.
